Lessons Entrepreneurs Can Learn from Diamond Dallas Page

Joseph Falkinburg Jr., aka Diamond Dallas Page (@RealDDP) is world-known in the sports and entertainment industries as a professional wrestler, actor, and yoga instructor. But the road to victory was not an easy one for the “Master of the Diamond Cutter”.

On a recent interview with Chris Brogan, DDP talked about some of the factors that has helped him be successful. These are bits of information that I believe every entrepreneur not only should learn from, but embrace and set up as part of their marketing plan.

  • It’s never too late. DDP began his wrestling career at age 37, which was a pretty big mountain to climb in an industry tailor-made for the young. And he didn’t just meet his goal; he excelled into becoming one of the most popular entities in the late 90′s.
  • Hard work and passion generates results. It doesn’t matter how far behind you think you are. If you put the effort and dedication into a work ethic, you will get where you want to be. It is up to you and how bad do you want it.
  • Your identity gets genuine emotional reactions. A key part of the interview for me was how Page explained the importance of incorporating who he is into the character of DDP. If you wanted proof of how much your identity can impact your brand in a positive way, here is a living example.
  • Care for your community. Dallas is an individual that gets it: you have to sincerely care for those who care about you. You can easily get caught up to was he says because he is energetic, passionate, and really cares. Pass by his Twitter account and learn from how he interacts with his followers. Plus, do you know any celebrities who take the time to call those who become members of their community?
